KENT’S LAKES
ABOUT KENT’S LAKES
Traveling to the Kents Lakes is a three-in-one adventure. The lakes cover 48 acres at an elevation of 8,790 feet with a maximum depth of 30 feet. They are stocked with rainbow trout, brook trout, tiger trout and Bonneville cutthroat trout, so make sure you pack your lucky fishing gear. You’ll find 17 campsites on the adjacent Forest Service land if you’re looking for a place to spend the night.
Just up the road from Middle Kents Lake at an elevation of 8,989 feet, the Upper Kents Lake was built in 1994, and it’s stocked with native Bonneville cutthroat trout, and it’s also known for its good population of brook trout that migrate into the reservoir.
Just downstream from the Middle Kents Lake at an elevation of 8,647 feet, Lower Kents Lake (A.K.A. Tushar Lake) is stocked with rainbow trout, brook trout and Bonneville cutthroat trout. You’ll also find several Forest Service group campsites with pavilions adjacent to the lake.
There is a $5 day use fee to picnic but at the Tushar Campground, at Lower Kents Lake, there are canoes for public use. Make sure to use a life jacket, which is also provided, and tie the canoe back up when you are done!
