February’s Abundance of Snow
Winter is in full swing, with the slopes covered in snow and all of Beaver blanketed. With such an abundance of snow, it’s time to get out and have some winter fun. Eagle Point Resort has nearly all 40 runs open, with the green and blue trails groomed and the black diamond trails ungroomed for some rugged runs. Temperatures are promising to keep the 200 inches of snowfall this year right where it is, so carve out some time for skiing or snowboarding at Eagle Point Resort.
The fun doesn’t stop at the resort. Grab your favorite winter toy and spend the weekend on the trails. Whether that’s zipping through the aspens on a snowmobile on a high-adrenaline ride or snowshoeing through the tranquil, snow-covered forests, plan an adventure in the mountains. Find some already-made snowmobile tracks and tube down them for some added fun and speed. Add cross-country skiing to your winter to-do list if you haven’t already and discover the peaceful workout it provides.
Immense snowfall means pristine backcountry conditions. If you’re new to backcountry skiing or snowboarding, consider hiring a guide or joining a group from a local outfitter to discover the unspoiled wilderness of the backcountry. Backcountry adventures are challenging and, depending on your skill level, may need to be worked up to. With ample snow, it’s the perfect time to develop your knowledge of lesser-known areas. Come next season, you’ll be an expert who can reap the rewards of skiing down untracked slopes through untouched fresh powder.
