Minersville

Minersville was settled in 1859 under the direction of Brigham Young so a lead mine could be operated on the site where Jesse N. Smith and three others had found lead the previous year. Minersville had 446 residents in 1870 and now has 938.

Today, Minersville bears its history in its name and close-knit community. Todd’s Market offers visitors refreshment, the Beaver County Fairground hosts all sorts of events (find out more here), and the nearby Minersville Reservoir provides fishing, boating, swimming, and camping.

Six miles from downtown Minersville, visitors will find Minersville Reservoir, which has a county-operated campground and a paved boat ramp where you can rent peddle boats and life jackets. The lake is known for its trophy-sized trout. Families also love Minersville Lake Park, a natural playground located alongside the lake and designed to wear kids out.

While the Beaver County Fairgrounds is a popular spot when events occur, it’s also a great place to visit throughout the year. This Minersville staple offers a horse area, picnic area, playground, and volleyball court.

Relax and enjoy the sunshine at Minersville Park, which has clean restrooms, a play area for kids, and a picnic area. Neighboring Minersville Pool has a friendly staff to take care of you and is great for cooling off.

Jump inside the Minersville Library to read books, make copies, and access computers. Local treasure Todd’s Market is where you’ll always find yummy donuts, sandwiches, and fresh food. Papa Don’s Chevron provides tire changes, vehicle services, fuel, soda, treats, and even a barber.
